I Grew My LinkedIn 354% in 12 Days, Here's What's Working

Dr Brooklyn Storme

This episode is my live LinkedIn experiment, day 12 of trying to hit 10,000 followers from a total novice start, a reach lesson that cost me almost my whole audience on one post, and the manifesting step most people skip completely, receiving. Five things I want you to walk away with, below.

Let's look at your numbers together

SECTION 01

354.8% sounds great, the real number tells the real story

Profile views are up nearly 60 percent. Post impressions haven't moved at all.

+60%
profile views
~305
post impressions, flat
In 12 days I've gone from 31 followers to 141, a 354.8 percent cumulative growth, averaging about nine new followers a day.
Profile views are up nearly 60 percent while post impressions have barely moved, sitting around 305 the whole time.
That gap tells me the content is landing, the people who do see it are following, I just need more people seeing it in the first place.
It's tempting to just lead with the percentage because it sounds more impressive than the number itself, but the number is what tells you what to do next.
THE TAKEAWAY
An impressive percentage and a working strategy aren't always the same thing, look at both numbers.

SECTION 02

One screenshot cost me almost my whole reach

A raw ChatGPT screenshot got flagged as AI generated content, and my reach collapsed.

AI GENERATED
30 of 8,300 members saw it
I posted a free Oracle card tool I was so excited about, and it was seen by 30 people out of my 8,300 member community, my worst performing post ever.
The cause was a raw ChatGPT screenshot, Facebook flags it as AI generated content and restricts the reach, even when the image itself is harmless.
Running the same kind of image through Canva first, even with zero editing, just resizing it, seems to avoid the flag entirely, that's what's worked on every other AI image I've posted.
This isn't really about avoiding AI, it's about never posting raw AI output without your own story and edit sitting on top of it.
THE TAKEAWAY
Check your insights before you assume a strategy failed, sometimes it's one flag on one image.

Engaging with others is outperforming my own posts

On a brand new LinkedIn account, showing up in someone else's comments beats posting alone.

💬
comments on others' posts
📝
my own posts, flat reach
Most of my new followers are coming from comments I've left on other people's posts, not from my own content, they follow the thinking, then discover the posts.
I'm running four posts a week from now on, alternating education and storytelling, since LinkedIn rewards thought leadership more than volume.
Only 3 to 5 percent of LinkedIn users post at all, which means there's very little role modelling out there for what a good post even looks like.
Education posts build authority and credibility, storytelling posts build the connection and rapport that grows an audience.
THE TAKEAWAY
On a new platform, showing up in other people's comments can grow you faster than posting alone.

SECTION 04

You don't own the platform, you own your list

A ban, a shutdown, or a policy change can take your audience with it. Email stays yours.

📱
social platform, not yours
✉️
your email list, yours
You don't own the platform, the data, or the audience you build there, if it shuts down or bans your account, that audience goes with it.
Social reach usually sits between 2 and 5 percent of your followers, an email list gets you closer to 25 percent, and you can re-send to non-openers for even more.
Multiple lead magnets matter here too, one free thing that you never promote isn't a system, it's a single point of failure.
Every referral pipeline, inquiry pipeline and sales pipeline in my business runs through email, that's true even in private practice.
THE TAKEAWAY
Followers can disappear overnight, your email list is the one audience you get to keep.

SECTION 05

A result you didn't want is still receiving

Manifesting isn't failing when the result is zero, it's still working, just showing you where to look.

identity
personal psychology
actions taken
result, even zero
If you did all your action steps and didn't get the client, that's not manifesting failing, what you manifested is a zero, and a zero is still information.
When a result doesn't land, I go back through identity, then personal psychology, then actions, because nine times out of ten something in those first two stages is running the show without you noticing.
Readiness to receive is part of this too, I once wondered why an offer wasn't converting and realised I'd never even built the onboarding process for it.
Being fixated only on the exact outcome you want means you can miss the smaller signs along the way, the pebble before the rock before the boulder.
THE TAKEAWAY
Receiving means accepting the result you got and asking what it's showing you, not just chasing the one you wanted.
